MUCCI- Of Saugus, formerly of Chelsea, April 8th, Retired Chelsea Firefighter John M. Devoted son of Muriel (Pepper) Mucci of Stoneham and the late John S. Mucci. Loving companion of Adelaide Duval of Saugus. Beloved father of Tammy Lee Bergeron of Virginia and Carla Lisa Ullman of Middleton. Dear brother of Carl Mucci of Revere, Richard Mucci of Winchendon, Theresa Casey of Washington, Paul Mucci of Hudson and Andrew Mucci of Colorado. Cherished grandfather of Kelsey, Cole, Courtney, Shelby and Jacob. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and frinds are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Tuesday morning, April 12th at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway, CHELSEA at 9 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Decorated Vietnam Army Veteran 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment. Recpient of the Silver Star, Combat Infantry Badge and Parachutist Badge. Member of the VFW and DAV.

Born in Boston and a longtime Chelsea resident who moved to Saugus in 1993, John, age 58, passed away at home after a very brief illness.

A graduate of Salem State with a degree in accounting, John was a member of the Chelsea Fire Department, appointed on May 18th, 1971 and retiring on March 19, 1988.
