Obituary

New Bedford – Adeline (Almeida) Borges, 90, of Clem’s Way, Acushnet died after a long illness at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility on April 5, 2005. She was the widow of Julius Borges.

Mrs. Borges was born in Dartmouth, daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Cosmo) Almeida, and resided in the town most of her life. Though she had many interests, her children and family were her life.

Survivors include her son: Robert Borges of Dartmouth; her daughter: Barbara Francis and her husband Robert of Rochester; her triplets: Joan Garganta of Fairhaven, Frederick Borges and his wife Joanne of New Bedford and James Borges and his wife Dolores of Dartmouth; 2 sisters: Georgianna Gemme of New Bedford and Alice Jenney of Mattapoisett; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; some great great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

She was sister of the late Rocky Dundee, Albert Almeida, Jil Almeida and Edward Almeida.

Calling hours on Thursday, April 7, 2005, 5-8 P.M.

Funeral service on Friday, April 8, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford.

Interment in Acushnet Cemetery, Acushnet.
