Laura (Messier) O'Donnell, 62, of Rochester, MA died April 4, 2005 at The Oaks Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was the loving wife of Paul R. O'Donnell, Jr.
Born in Putnam, CT, the daughter of R. Laurent and E. Evelyn (Denis) Messier, of Johnston, RI, she lived all over the world as a teacher teaching at U. S. Military Bases before moving to Rochester, MA in 1982. Most recently, she was a teacher at the Children's Depot in Marion.
She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Rochester and St. Anthony's Church in Mattapoisett.
Mrs. O'Donnell was active in Cancer Survivor Support Groups.
Survivors include her husband, her parents, a son, John O'Donnell, and his wife Julie, of North Stonington, CT; a daughter, Lee Ann Scheuring, and her husband Glenn, of Sacramento, CA; 2 brothers, Lynn L. Messier, and his wife Marilyn, of New Harbor, Maine, and Leo Messier, and his wife Diane, of Providence, RI; a sister, Lucille Thayer of Warwick, RI; a sister-in-law, Joyce Arsenault of Ashburnham, MA; 5 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett Thursday, April 7th at 10 AM.
Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church, Mattapoisett at 11 AM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Wednesday, April 6th from 5-8 PM.
Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery.
