Laurene (Rocha) Pina, 43, of Brockton died April 1, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of William Pina.
Born in Tewksbury and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of Barbara (Martins) Andrade of East Providence, RI, and the late Francisco "Butch" Rocha, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life before moving to Brockton.
She was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School, class of 1980, and attended Bristol Community College.
Mrs. Pina was formerly employed as a nurse's aide, and then as a teacher's aide for New Bedford Public Schools.
She served in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. She loved interior decorating and sewing.
Survivors include her husband; her mother; 3 sons, Tycin Pina of Fairhaven, and Wayne Pina and Ryan Pina, both of New Bedford; a daughter, Rayelle Pina of New Bedford; 2 brothers, Francisco Rocha of Bellingham and Reginald Mendes of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Andrea Cepeda of Bellingham and Melissa Laprade of California; a grandson, John Jimenez; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in the International Church of the Nazarene, Wednesday, April 6th at 10 AM.
Visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, April 5th from 7-9 PM.
