Obituary

Salem – Mrs. Diana E. (Lavoie) Meaney 88, formerly of St. Peter St., Salem, a retired retail clerk, wife of the late Francis T. Meaney, died Saturday morning, April 2, 2005 in the Harborside Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Danvers.

Born and raised in Lewiston, ME, daughter of the late Auguste and Marie (Ouellette) Lavoie, she received her education in the Lewiston, Maine school system.

Mrs. Meaney had been employed for several years as a clerk at the former Daniel Low Company in Salem until the time of her retirement. Prior to that she had worked at the former Webber’s Department Store on Essex Street in Salem.

A longtime resident of the City of Salem, she was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Salem.
She is survived by one grandson, Robert F. Carter of Winter Park, FL, several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and many friends at the Harborside Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Danvers. She was also mother of the late Robert F. Meaney.
