Salem – Miss. Ida C. Quartarone 83, of St. Peter St., Salem, a retired assembler, died Saturday morning, April 2, 2005 in the Salem Hospital.
Born and raised in Salem, daughter of the late Rosario and Margareta (Arena) Quartarone, she received her education in the Salem school system.
Miss. Quartarone had been employed for many years as an assembler at GTE Sylvania at it’s Salem and Danvers plants, until the time of her retirement twenty years ago.
A life long resident of the City of Salem, she was a communicant of the the former St. Mary’s Italian Church in Salem and a member of the Ladies Sodality of the church. She was also a member of the League of Catholic Women and volunteered for many years at the St. Mary’s Italian Church Beano.
Ida is survived by one sister, Mary Lydon of Salem, one brother, Frank Quartarone of Peabody, one sister-in-law, Mary Marraffa of Salem, several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Jennie Amato and Anthony Marraffa.
