Obituary

Effie Frances Teems, 68, of Milan, Georgia, died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Dorminy Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at the Christian Tabernacle in Fitzgerald, with Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Interment will follow in Arp Cemetery, Ben Hill County. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00, Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Teems was born April 12, 1936, in Tifton, Georgia to the late Charlie Norman and Juanita Jenkins Stephens. A homemaker, she lived in Milan for the past five years and lived in Ben Hill County and Telfair County most of her life. Mrs. Teems visited nursing homes, where she held bible studies and led singing. She was a member of the Christian Tabernacle in Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Teems is survived by her husband: Andrew Teems of Milan; stepchildren: Kathaleen Fish of Fitzgerald, Barbara Newsome of Delbarton, WV and Edward Leroy Teems of Trion, GA; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Jewell Roberts of Fitzgerald and Jeanette Cleghorn of Albany; one brother: Donald H. Stephens of Ocilla; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard Clinton and Hugh Dorsey Stephens.
