Margaret (Farias) Affonso, age 92 of Somerset, passed away on June 23, 2015 at the Somerset Ridge Nursing Care Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Gil C. “Gene” Affonso and the daughter of the late Antone & Maria (Silvia) Farias. Prior to retiring, Margaret worked as a Seamstress in the Garment Manufacturing Industry. She was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. and a parishioner of St. John of God Church.
She is survived by her daughter: Barbara Ann Daigle (husband Scott) of Somerset; grandchildren: Frank Correia (wife Robin) of Fall River, Krystal and Nicholas Daigle of Somerset; great grandson: Jack Raymond Correia; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late: John, Anthony, Joseph, and Edward Farias, Elizabeth Oliveira, Balbina “Bella” Medeiros, Josephine Farias, Mary Anderson, and Annie Medeiros.
Following cremation, family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass for Margaret on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in St. John of God Church, Somerset. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
