LACONIA - Elaine Leh Felton died at the age of 96 on Sunday, June 21st. at the St. Francis Nursing Home. She grew up in Claremont N.H. with 3 brothers and two sisters. After attending Keene State College she married James Leh and moved to Laconia, N.H. where he taught for 27 years. She finished her degree at Plymouth College, majoring in French. She taught French in several schools in N.H. Her last position was in Laconia, where she retired.
Her husband James Leh died in 1972, after a short illness.
She loved playing and teaching Bridge and received many honors and Master points in Duplicate Bridge. She married James Felton from Manchester, N.H. in April 1983. They enjoyed their winters in Florida and summers in Laconia. Jim died in Feb 2001.
Elaine is survived by her two daughters: Carol Leh Ouellette of Tampa, Fl. and Sharyn Leh of Dover N.H., her three grandchildren: Barry Ouellette of Houston, TX., Steve Ouellette of San Diego, Ca., and Mrs. Nicole Stowe of Pittsburg, P.A. and also 3 great grandchildren, Payton, Hailey, and Ashley Stowe. She is also survived by her loving sister, Marilyn Livingston from Claremont, N.H. , and many wonderful nieces and nephews that are a part of her extended family.
Calling hours will be held from 2:30PM to 4PM on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance. A funeral service will immediately follow the calling hours at 4PM, also at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
