Alfred C. Tibbetts, 83, of Milan, passed away on Sunday June 21, 2015 at the Country Village Center in Lancaster. He was born in South Bethel, ME on January 1, 1932 the son of Vinton C. and Ruth M. (Crockett) Tibbetts and lived in Maine until he was 20. He came to the Berlin-Gorham area and has lived in Milan since 1968. He served with the US Army Veteran during the Korean War Era and had been employed by the local paper mill for 40 years. Alfred was a member of the Eagles Club for about 10 years, enjoyed fishing, bowling and bowling for the Special Olympics.
Family includes his children James Tibbetts and wife Doris of Havana, FL, Linda Hayward and husband Ken of Bucksport, ME, William Tibbetts and wife Bev of Milan, NH, Lorna Tibbetts of Laconia, NH, Kathy Hawkins of Berlin, NH and his 7th child Dan “Jake” Tibbetts and wife Celeste of Milan, NH; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Darla Robertson of Rumford, ME and Janice Miele of Peru, ME; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Gloria (Vashaw) Tibbetts on 5/21/2014, son Charles on 1/11/2008, son-in-law Clyde Hawkins on 6/21/14 and brothers Albert “Dick” Tibbetts and James Tibbetts.
There will be no calling hours. Graveside Services for both Alfred and Gloria will be held on Saturday August 1, 2015 at 4 PM at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Milan. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Anyone who wishes may make a donation to the American Cancer Society in their memory.
