Robert D. Ward of Grafton, formerly of Natick passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 20th, 2015 at the UMASS Medical Center of Worcester. He was fifty-four years old.
Born in Worcester on July 29, 1960 he was the son of the late Robert L. and Shirley J. (Pulsifer) Ward.
Raised in Natick, he was a 1978 graduate of Natick High School where he was a member of the football team.
Robert worked for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for seventeen years and was an incident response manager and a liaison for MEMA.
He was a devoted husband, amazing father, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, cousin and friend. Bob always put his family first, enjoyed coaching little league in Grafton, playing golf and the Boston Bruins.
He was a devoted husband of Susan D. (Ross) Ward of Grafton and together they shared twenty-two years of marriage. He was a loving father of Hannah, Jack and Sara Ward all of Grafton.
Brother of James Ward and his wife Ann-Marie of Seattle, WA, Ellen Fresh and her husband Tim of Holliston, Anne Boerman and her husband Thom of Maynard and Mike Ward and his wife Natalia of Webster. Nephew of Frances McElligott of Waltham. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common on Thursday, June 25th at 9:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford St., Natick at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
Visiting hours in the funeral home on Wednesday, June 24th from 4:00-8:00PM. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick.
