Obituary

Mary (Teixeira) Motta, 85, of Dartmouth died March 29, 2005 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Frank Motta, who passed away on March 7, 2005.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel and Apolonia (Gonsalves) Teixeira, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life before moving to Dartmouth 30 years ago.
She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Mrs. Motta was formerly employed as a manager in the Sportswear Department at Cherry & Webb in Downtown New Bedford.
She was a former member and officer of the St. John's Couples Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosemarie Bruce, and her husband Dennis, of Dartmouth, and Beverly Mills, and her husband Edward, of Fairhaven; a sister, Cecelia Brie of Dartmouth; two brothers, Antone Teixeira of California, and Manuel Teixeira of Maryland; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Joseph Valient, Alfred Teixeira, and Angelina Teixeira.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Saturday, April 2nd at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Friday, April 1st from 5-8 PM. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private.
