MILLBURY-Clara E. Mickelson, 88, formerly of 73 Auburn Rd. died Tues., March 29 in Radius Healthcare.
She leaves a nephew, David M. Mickelson of Madison, WI; four nieces, Karen A. Beaudoin and Elaine L. Loehmann both of Millbury, Marie E. Moisan of Stratham, NH and Chris R. Koehler of Spokane, WA; many grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was born in Millbury daughter of John A. and Marie A. (Osterholm) Mickelson and lived here all her life. She graduated from Millbury High School and University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1939. Ms. Mickelson was a teacher at the Providence St. School in Millbury for 38 years and also served as its principal before retiring in 1979. Clara was a receipient of a commendation from the state for student’s high reading scores. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and its Women’s Fellowship, the Millbury & Massachusetts Teachers Associations.
The funeral will be Sat., April 2 at 10 a.m. in LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester. A calling hour will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester.
