Irene Ann (Sylvia) Oliveira. Age 86. Wife of the late Arthur Pontes Oliveira. Residence 4901 No. Main St., Fall River, MA , formerly of 38 Madison Rd., Swansea, MA. Died Sunday at Sarah Brayton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Fall River, MA. Daughter of the late Joseph Sylvia and the late Emma (Freitas) Sylvia. She was a Fall River resident for 3 years. Previously, she resided in Swansea from 1951 to 2002 and prior to that she resided in Nantucket. Before retiring, she was a Floor Girl at Louis Hand for 20 years. She was a former member of the Swansea Day Care Council on Aging. She was an avid Shopper. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, now Our Lady of Fatima Chapel of St. Michael.
She is survived by One Daughter: Beverly Ann Oliveira of Fall River, MA.
One Brother: Frank Sylvia of Warren, RI.
One Sister: Catherine Amaral of Wildwood, FL. Four Grandchildren: John Lavender, Lori Tavares, Kim D’Ambrosio and Robert Oliveira. Four Great Great Grandchildren and Several nieces and nephews. She was also Mother of the late Robert Oliveira and sister of the late John Sylvia of Bristol and Grandmother of the late Jeffrey Oliveira.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, MA Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Chapel of St. Michael, Ocean Grove, Swansea, Ma. at 10:00 A.M. Internment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River, MA. Calling hours Tuesday 4-8 P.M.
