Obituary

WORCESTER-Edward F. Kennedy, Jr., 77, of 18 Brookside Avenue, formerly of 90 Malden Street, died Sunday, March 27th in UMass-Memorial Hospital. He leaves his wife of 47 years Patricia M. (O’Keefe) Kennedy, 2 sons, Edward H. Kennedy of Worcester and Thomas F. and his wife Wendi Kennedy of West Boylston, a daughter Patricia A. Kennedy of Alexandria, VA, a sister Margaret T. Carney of Worcester, 3 granddaughters, Ashly, Alexandra and Sydney Kennedy and many nephews and nieces. A brother William J. Kennedy died in 1982.

He was born in Worcester the son of Edward F. and Mary F. (Carroll) Kennedy, Sr. and was a graduate of Holy Cross College. Mr. Kennedy was a World War 2 Navy veteran. He had worked as a Massachusetts State Trooper, then as supervisor for Travelers Insurance for 29 years and later as a clerk at the Westborough District Court for 10 years, retiring in 1993. Mr. Kennedy was a member of the Holy Cross College Alumni Association, the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association, Former Massachusetts State Troopers, Inc. and a former member of American Legion Post 36.

The funeral is Wednesday March 30th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Tuesday, March 29th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Please make memorial contributions to the charity of your choice.
