Mildred A. (Ross) Reid, age 73, of Norton, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro.
She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick L. Reid who died on August 24, 1997.
Born in Boston, MA on February 18, 1942, she was a loving daughter of the late John and Dora (Hutchinson) Ross.
She grew up in the Roxbury section of Boston, was educated in Boston schools, and was a graduate of the James P. Timilty High School.
A resident of Norton for the past 37 years, Mrs. Reid was a retired Baker’s Clerk, having worked for 20 years at Roche Bros in Norton. She retired in 2012.
Mildred was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton. She was one of the founders of Cupboard of Kindness in Norton and a former volunteer for many years at the annual Attleboro Christmas Dinner.
She loved spending time with her family and friends, and also enjoyed playing bingo and arts and crafts.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Casey A. Murray of Norton. She was the dear sister of the late Patricia Cadigan and Margaret Woods, and is also survived by her niece Tiffany Woods of Malden.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 23rd at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow at the Norton Common Cemetery in Norton.
Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Mildred with a donation in her memory made to the charity of ones choice.
