Lola Ippolito of Medford passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday, June 15 after a seven year battle with breast cancer. Born in East Boston, the daughter of the late Luigi and Theresa (Giorgione) Ippolito, she was raised and educated in Medford. Lola was employed for many years in the Office of State Treasurer, Robert Crane as a payroll clerk. Lola was passionate about cooking, sewing and gardening. She enjoyed traveling especially traveling over seas.
She was the loving sister of the late Vincent and Anthony Ippolito, and the cherished aunt of Michele Karlberg and her husband Jeffrey of Andover, Christine Hussey and her husband Robert of Bedford, Tara Spagnoletti and her husband Nicholas of Madison, NJ. Lola was a dear friend of the Tarani and Taddeo families, and is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by those who were privileged to have enjoyed her company for her 87 years.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Friday, June 19, from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St. at 11AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
