Obituary

Rockland – William E. Foley 81 died Monday June 15 in his home surrounded by family, after brave battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie I. (Jetter) Foley.

Born in Boston he was the son of the late John and Mildred (McHugh) Foley.

William was a proud Korean War Veteran having served in the US Navy from 1952-1956.

He was a longtime resident of the South Shore, having resided in Whitman before moving to Rockland 15 years ago.

Prior to his retirement he had worked over 40 years, driving bus for the MBTA and later working 15 years as a school bus driver for the Hingham school system.

He was an avid Red Sox fan and had enjoyed working in and around his yard, gardens and pool, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Lynne Lindh and her husband David of Newbury, NH, Theodore Foley, Maryanne Foley of Rockland, and Christopher Foley of Brockton, his brother Ronald Foley of Canton and his sister Mildred Sullivan and her husband David. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nicholas Horte, Kerri Horte, Katie Lindh and David Lindh II as well as nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Jeffrey Foley.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours to be held Sunday June 21 from 2:00-6:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. By request of the family all other services are private.
