Robert Arthur Knights, age 85, of Mansfield, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of sixty years of Barbara M. (Ludlam) Knights.
Born in Randolph, MA on April 5, 1930, he grew up in Randolph and was the son of the late Harry and Eleanor (Bennett) Knights.
Bob was a resident of Mansfield for the past 55 years. Prior to his retirement, he was self-employed for many years in the automotive industry, and later worked for Plymouth County Mosquito Control.
Bob enjoyed spending many summers with his treasured family at his vacation home in Maine, as well as vacationing with Barbara in Florida for numerous winters.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed beekeeping, hunting, fishing, gardening and all things nature.
Bob was a true jack-of-all-trades who could fix anything, and took great joy in life's simple pleasures.
Along with Barbara, Bob is survived by his children Mark Knights and his wife Connie of Brookline, NH, Robert Knights and his wife Beth of Halifax, MA, Susan Adler and her husband Andy of Norton, MA, Bonnie Corkum and her husband Dave of Attleboro, MA, as well as ten grandchildren and one great grandson. The youngest of 14 children, Bob is survived by his loving sister Elizabeth Walker of Randolph.
Services and burial will be private, and visiting hours have been omitted.
