Linda Lee Leopold (Morgan)

Linda Lee Leopold (nee Morgan), 66, a resident of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015. A memorial service will be held at Green Pine Funeral Home, 96281 Green Pine Road, Yulee, FL on Monday, June 22, at 6:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the Amelia River Golf Club.

Interment will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23. Those attending the interment at the National Cemetery on Tuesday should arrive between 10:00 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. in lane number 1.

Linda was born May 4, 1949 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Harry and Yolanda Morgan. She grew up in the town of Roselle Park, NJ, graduating from Roselle Park High School in 1967. On August of that same year she was married to Gary Leopold, and led the life of a Navy wife for the next 30 years, maintaining the household through 26 moves. She attained an Associate in Business degree from Trident Technical College in 1991, and worked as a Paralegal in Summerville, SC. She received certification for the Florida Master Naturalist Program from the University of Florida and was designated as a Master Gardener and Master Naturalist. As a landscaper and member of the Native Plant Society, Linda actively participated in activities to preserve the native flora of beautiful Amelia Island. Her handiwork can be admired by all in the gorgeous Loropetalum bushes at the entrance to Amelia River Golf Club. She was also an accomplished oils artist and avid reader. She is survived by her husband, Gary R. Leopold; her mother Yolanda Frazier; three siblings Raymond Morgan, Carol Nadillo, and Kathy Starnes. Also surviving are three children, Lea and her husband Samuel, Richard and Steven. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to cancer research/treatment facilities, or their local Community Hospice.
