Obituary

EDGEWATER, FL – Richard J. “Dick” Lefebvre, 79, of Edgewater, Florida and a longtime resident of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, June 11, 2015. He passed into Eternal Life at the Kindred Hospital in Green Cove Springs, Florida surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born at home on Felix Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee on April 13, 1936, a beloved son of the late Joseph H. and Lena M. (Bergeron) Lefebvre. He was raised in Aldenville, attended local schools and lived in Chicopee for most of his life before moving to Edgewater, Florida in April of 2012. He served his country in the United States Navy during the end of the Korean War and attained the rank of Radioman Third Class. Dick furthered his education and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and was employed for many years at the Walter Drake Company in Holyoke. Dick was a wonderful chef and was known by many people in the Chicopee area for his culinary skills. He enjoyed going to New York City to see many Broadway musicals. He was a former communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Willimansett where he sang in the church choir for many years. Most recently, he was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend, Ann S. (Przybyla) Lefebvre. They were married on November 11, 1967 at Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Willimansett and were blessed with over 45 years of happiness together. He leaves his three loving daughters, Lena A. Perez, Laura A. Romano and Lisa A. Lefebvre, all of Chicopee; his ten cherished grandchildren, Hector Perez, Jr, Jamie Perez, Alexandria Perez, Alia Perez, Zenaida Cintron, Taylor Romano, Nico Romano, Joseph Chagnon, Jeremy Chagnon and Stephen O’Brien; his two cherished great-grandchildren, Emma Perez and Charles Santiago; his dear sister, Arline Dobosz and her husband, Arthur, of Edgewater, FL; his longtime friend, George Lusignan of South Hadley; and his many dear nephews and nieces. Besides his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by his three dear sisters, Helen, Jeannette and Margaret. His funeral will be held on Monday morning, June 22, 2015 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial with US Navy Military Honors will follow the Mass at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, 800 Montgomery Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
