Larry Manning, 61, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at the Osceola Nursing Home, Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Friday, March 25, 2005, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Ocilla, with Rev. David Biggers officiating. Interment will follow in Lax Community Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 9:00, Thursday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Manning was born July 14, 1943, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Hall Stephen Manning, Sr. and Jackie Lee Tucker Manning. He lived in the Irwin community most of his life. Mr. Manning was an Auto Mechanic, having worked for Fitzgerald Ford, Sheppard’s Garage, Quality Muffler and Simpson’s Auto Clinic. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.
Mr. Manning is survived by his wife: Jan P. Manning of Ocilla; daughter and son-in-law: Teressa and Allen Pope of Fitzgerald; son and daughter-in-law: Ricky and Renee Manning of Fitzgerald; two stepdaughters and step son-in-law: Lisa Harper of Adel and Laura and Jimmy Watson of Thomaston; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters-in-law: Steve and Joyce Manning of Mableton, Terry and Marty Manning Walker of Milan, Bobby and Dawn Manning of Gray; Jessie and Mary Manning of Champaign, IL, Jimmie and Cecilia Manning of Franklin, TN, Billy and Charlene Manning of Tampa, FL and Gary Manning of Atlanta; sisters and brother-n-law: Betty Jo and Ernest Padgett, Jacksonville, GA and Linda Manning, California; many nieces and nephews.
