Sandra R. Melton, 66, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M., Friday, March 25, 2005, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00, Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Melton was born October 28, 1938, in Glasgow, Scotland, to the late John and Sarah Ellen Rae Clemments. Mrs. Melton came to the United States as a Nanny. She lived in the Fitzgerald community for the past thirty years and was a former resident of Macon, GA and Fairfax, VA. She was a homemaker and former employee of Y & W Sportswear, Modern Fibers and Fitzgerald Underwear. Mrs. Melton attended Callie Garbutt Baptist Church.
Mrs. Melton is survived by her husband: Thomas J. Melton, Sr., Fitzgerald; three daughters: Cheryl Alveraz, Janet Melton and Sarah Barnes, all of Fitzgerald; one son: Jeff Melton, Fitzgerald; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
