Lawrence Kittle, 65, of Mystic, Georgia, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Mystic Baptist Church, with Rev. Dan Johnson, Rev. Greg Carroll, Rev. Sonny Pate and Rev. Charles Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 9:00, Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Kittle was born May 25, 1939, in Randolph County, Alabama to the late Hershel J. and Claudie Smith Kittle. A Farmer, he lived in the community for the past fifty-six years. Mr. Kittle was a member, deacon and former Sunday School director of Mystic Baptist Church and caretaker of Mystic Cemetery. He was a member of the Long County Hunting Club, Poll Manager for the Mystic voting precinct and Past-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Irwin Academy.
Mr. Kittle is survived by his wife: Elizabeth W. Kittle of Mystic; daughters and sons-in-law: Laura Beth & Tony Tucker and Amy and Billy Hancock, all of Mystic; five grandchildren: Austin Brett Tucker, Matthew Walton Tucker, Brooks William Tucker, Anna Elizabeth Hancock and Callie Catherine Hancock; sisters: Myrtice Ring of Columbus, GA, Mary Jo Merritt of Tifton and twin sister, Florence Latham of Fitzgerald; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, David Lawrence Kittle
