Yolande H. Tellier, 100, formerly of Old Main St. Manville died peacefully Thursday evening at Oakland Grove Health Care Center in Woonsocket. She was the loving wife of the late George Tellier. They were married in 1941 and shared 35 years together until his passing in 1976.
A proud lifelong resident of Manville she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Victoria (Drouin) Gousy.
Mrs. Tellier was employed at the Manville Jencks mill and later worked at Poly-Top Corp. and in jewelry manufacturing in Providence.
Yolande was a longtime communicant of St. James Parish, a member of the Artizans Insurance and volunteered her time at The Holiday.
Yolande was very generous with using her God-given gift of caring for others during her life. She devoted much of her time to nursing and providing care for many family members and friends. She also found time to be a talented cook and adept seamstress.
Yolande’s family was the center of her life and she was delighted to celebrate her 100th birthday on June 20, 2014.
She is survived by two daughters Parise Lemaire of Bolton, CT and Camille Behrenz and her husband, Lawrence, of Arizona. She was the mother of the late Gerard Tellier (who died as an infant) and she was the mother-in-law of the late Raymond G. Lemaire. She was the sister of the late Yvonne, Irene, Martial and Ruth Gousy. Yolande is also survived by four grandchildren Maryanne Rotelli, Carolyn Trotta, Michelle Welch and Keith Behrenz and 8 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be Thursday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 71 Central St. Manville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St. Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5-8 pm.
