Fall River – Gordon J. “Herb” Manchester, 70, of Tiverton, RI died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at St. Anne’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of 23 years to Mary C. (Santos) Manchester.
Mr. Manchester was born in Tiverton, RI, son of the late Roger M. and Doris C. (Leach) Manchester, and was a lifelong resident of Tiverton, RI. Prior to his retirement in 1995 he was a machine operator for Dover Stamping, Fall River. He was a member of the Bliss Four Corners Congregational Church, Tiverton, RI.
Including his wife he is survived by: a step-daughter: Sheryl Mower of Montana; 3 brothers: Roger Manchester of Cape Coral, FL, Everett “Carl” Manchester of Tiverton, RI and Lawrence Manchester of Tiverton, RI; 4 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Jeffrey Baker and the brother of the late Shirley Pacheco and Gerald Manchester.
Services to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport at 7:30 P.M.
Calling hours Wednesday 5 – 8 P.M.
Interment will be private.
