Loretta M. Detollenaere, 94, of Derry, NH, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Academy Manor Nursing Home, Andover, MA. She was born on July 28, 1920 in Lawrence, MA a daughter of the late Robert and Louise Vandenhecke. Mrs. Detollenaere attended Lawrence High School, Lawrence, MA. In her younger years, she worked in the Lawrence Mills and later worked for Raytheon in N. Andover, MA as an administrative assistant. Loretta was devoted to her family. She enjoying spending time with them and cooking for them, especially around the holidays. She also enjoyed shopping.
She is survived by her son, Michael Detollenaere of Derry, her daughter, Judith A. Boivin of Jessup, MD, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one brother Robert Vandenhecke of Port St. Lucie, FL, one sister, Roberta Despres of Danville, NH, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Blanche Bush and Shirley Kravitz.
Calling hours were held on Monday, June 15, 2015 from 6 -8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Liturgy of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, June 16th at 10:00am in Mary Mother of the Church, 12 Amesbury Road, Newton, NH. Entombment followed in St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence, MA.
