Ronald Edward Dorman, 65, of Tifton passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Brother Glenn Ford and Brother Clinton Moore officiating. Mr. Dorman will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, June 12, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Jody Hogan, Russ Dorman, Denby Dorman, Rusty Dorman, Tyler Dorman and Joey Dorman will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Calvary Baptist Church in Tifton, as well as David Gibbs and Rev. John S. Gibbs, Jr.
Mr. Dorman was born January 17, 1950 in Tifton, the son of Russell Raymond Dorman and Carnie Lee Wilds Dorman, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Tommy D. West and his father-in-law, Pete Hogan. He was employed with ESG Operations in Tifton and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tifton, where he has served as deacon from 1976 to the present; treasurer from 1980 to the present; and Sunday School Director from 1983 to 2014 and was the longest serving Sunday School Director within the Mell Baptist Association. He was employed with Tri-County Gas Company in Tifton for 20 plus years; and with Taylor Made in Tifton for 15 years.
Mr. Dorman is survived by his wife, Linda Hogan Dorman of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Anna Dorman of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Kerri and Jerry West of Ty Ty; one brother and sister-in-law, Russell Darrell Sr. and Sarah Dorman of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and J. M. Bailey of Tifton; his mother-in-law, Mildred Hogan of Tifton; and three grandchildren, Luke Dorman, John Dorman and Caroline Dorman.
