Matthew E.Wojciechowski,76, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2015. He was the husband of the late Charlene A. (Wiggins) Wojciechowski.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Matthew and Rose (Bigda) Wojciechowski.
Mr. Wojciechowski was a Marine Corp veteran. He was also a true outdoorsman; Mr. Wojciechowski was an avid fisherman and sportsman. Mr. Wojciechowski idolized his two cherished grandchildren and was a dedicated grandpa.
He is survived by his beloved sons, Michael and his wife, Judy of Harrisville, Matthew and Robert, both of Providence; his grandchildren, Cody and Rheanna of Harrisville; a sister, Irene Laporte and her husband Bill of Danielson, Connecticut and a brother, Edward of Wakefield. He also leaves his extended family who he looked forward to seeing; his nurse, Pam McConnel from CNE/VNA and CNAS from Bayada, Carlos Sosa, Lorinda Green and Chanel Cartwright. Not only did they give him exceptional care and an abundance of compassion, but they filled his last few months with a great deal of love, laughter and joy.
A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday at 12 noon in the Church of St. Mary, 538 Broadway, Providence. Burial is private.
