Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 9am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Fleurette T. (Langevin) 93 years, Brockton resident and wife for 67 years of the late Alexander F. O’Connor died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at her home after a brief illness. Born and raised in Gardner, MA daughter of the late Joseph and Evangeline (Alie) Langevin, she was a graduate of Gardner High School, class of 1928 and moved to Brockton in 1935.
She had been employed by the Western Union Telegraph Company for two years, and before her retirement in 1993, was an administrative assistant in the State Department of Public Welfare where she had worked for 42 years. She was an accomplished pianist and first appeared on stage at the age of seven, and participated in many area minstrel and variety shows. She also served as a French interpreter for friends in Normandy, France as well as locally; she was proud of her French Heritage. She was a member of the St. Edward Women’s Club and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She had been a longtime communicant of St. Edward and St. Edith Stein Churches.
She is survived by her children Jeanne H. Kerwin and her husband Leonard of Yarmouthport, Atty Daniel J. O’Connor and his wife Carol of Brockton, Paul F. O’Connor of Brockton, Marie A. O’Connor of Brockton and James R. O’Connor and his wife Pamela of Sandwich, 25 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and five nieces and nephews. She was the wife for 67 years of the late Alexander F. O’Connor.
