Obituary

Ernest G. “Ernie” LaFranchise age 85 of Bridgewater, died Monday June 8, 2015 at Southeast Rehabilitation in N. Easton after a period of failing health. He was the devoted husband of the late Anne (Arab) LaFranchise. Ernie was born and raised in Brockton, a son of the late Isadore and Alice (Landry) LaFranchise and had lived in Bridgewater for the past 10 years. Previously he had lived in East Bridgewater for many years.
A 1948 graduate of Brockton High School, Ernie went to school nights to earn a bachelor degree in accounting from Bentley College. He retired as an accountant from Barbour Welt in Brockton after many years of service. During the Korean War, Ernie served in the US Navy.
Ernie enjoyed many winters in Florida with his wife. He had been a longtime communicant of St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church in Brockton.
He is survived by his brother Joseph and his wife Lucille of Brockton and predeceased by Bernard LaFranchise and also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Thursday 9-10am. A Service of the Divine Mysteries of Christian Burial will be held in St. Theresa Maronite Church at 10:30am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
