Jacqueline L. Thomson – Kennebunk, Maine
KENNEBUNK- On June 8, 2015, Jacqueline Loveland Thomson passed away peacefully at her home. She was under the care of her loving family and Hospice of So. Maine. Jackie was born in Camden, New Jersey, on February 12, 1932 to Robert Loveland and Aletha Whitney Loveland. She graduated from Dunellen New Jersey High School in 1949. Jackie entered Bates College in Lewiston, Maine the following fall and met her future husband to be Bill Thomson. Jackie’s career was being a remarkable mother to four children, eight grandchildren and many of their friends. Her family homestead was open to all, a place that was ruled from her heart. Jackie also assisted her husband at their summer business The Whispering Sands Gift Shop in York Beach, Maine and worked at Porteous Mitchell and Braun in Newington, New Hampshire.
Jackie is survived by her husband Bill of 65 years, four children: daughter Kathie and her husband Michael Mahoney of Exeter, PA, son Bill and his wife Jane of Kennebunk, daughter Cindy, Kennebunk, son Jeff and his wife Ann, of York; eight grandchildren: Timothy and Brendan Mahoney, Andrew and Matthew Thomson, Jackie and James Allen, and Megan and Emma Thomson; two brothers: Peter and Donald Loveland and their wives Kathy and Ann, and many nieces and nephews.
The family is very thankful for the loving and wonderful care Jackie received from her Hospice team and its primary nurse Ellen Barry. A memorial service will be held at the First Parish Church, 180 York Street, York, Maine on Saturday, June 27th at 5:00 PM.
