SALEM – Clara T. (Malionek) Flowers, 94 passed away at the Kaplan Center on June 7, 2015, after a brief illness.
Born in Salem on January 8, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Tekla (Szczepaniak) Malionek and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was predeceased in March of 1996 by her husband Walter A. Kwiatkowski Flowers, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage.
Clara was a lifelong communicant and active member of St. John the Baptist Church, Salem.
She was employed for many years by the Sylvania Electric Company, where she was a popular and productive worker who made many long term friends.
Clara is survived by her daughter Sandra, and by her five sons Robert and his wife Jeanne, Chester and his wife Gail, Paul, Walter and his wife Eleanor, James and his wife Kimberly, grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Nancy Wolfe, Brian and Karen Flowers, Jason and Bonnie Flowers, Amy Flowers, Jessica and Richard Darragh, Aaron Flowers and Geneva Beaudry, Tyler Flowers, Julie Flowers, Emily and Jon Gormley. Clara was predeceased by her grandson Timothy Wolfe. Clara loved all of her grandchildren, and she took special pride and happiness from her great grandchildren, Alex and Luke Flowers, Mary and Michael Flowers, Jordan and Troy Darragh, Emmett Flowers, and baby Nora Gormley, who was born just a few weeks ago. She also leaves her sisters, Theresa Jaworski and Mary McHugh, her brothers, Joseph, Henry, Louis, and Richard Malionek and many nieces and nephews and their children, all of whom Clara loved. She took great pride in her extended family; she will be lovingly missed by all of her family members.
She was predeceased by her brothers Andrew, Stanley, Vincent, John, Frank, Chester, and Adolph Malionek.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 8:45 AM from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at the St. John the Baptist Church, Salem. Visiting hours are Wednesday, 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
