Obituary

Joseph G. Hebert, 81, of Woonsocket died Sunday June 7, 2015 at Trinity Health and Rehab Center in Woonsocket. He was the loving husband of Lucille (Pelissier) Hebert. They were married on July 28, 1956.
Born and raised in Woonsocket he was a son of the late George and Marie-Rose (Bissonette) Hebert. He was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Hebert served in the U.S. Army during the 1950s and attained the rank of Corporal with the 504th Military Police Battalion.
Mr. Hebert worked at the French Worsted Mill, Whittins Machine Company and Crosby Valve. He went on to be employed at Forte Cashmere Company as a foreman for over 25 years until retiring.
Joe was prodigious stamp collector and was very handy around the house. In the way of tools; you name it Joe had it, in fact several for that matter. Joe had a special hobby involving collecting, assembling and displaying model trains complete with detailed stops, towns and stations. Joe also had a special place in his heart for animals.
In addition to his wife of 58 years he is survived by his brothers-in-law Roland H. Pelisser and Edgar H. “Brother” Pelissier both of Woonsocket and several nieces and nephews and their families.
His funeral will be Friday at 10:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen St. 2nd Floor, Framingham, MA. 01701.
