MIDDLEBORO - John R. Martin Sr., 55, of Middleboro, formerly of Halifax,
died Wednesday at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after sustaining injuries from a motor vehicle accident.
Born and raised in Halifax, he was a son of the late Ceasar and Alice W. (Amado) Martin.
Mr. Martin was a graduate of Silver Lake Regional High School.
He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his siblings, Ronald Martin of Middleboro, Honey E. Martin of Plympton and Frank Martin of Brockton; his step-children, Jennifer Luz and Sandra Schlecht, both of Plymouth, and Mike and Casey Andrade; his former wife, Susan Ruprect of Plymouth and many nieces and nephews. He was father of the late John R. Martin Jr. and brother of the late Ceasar, Richard, Gregory and Anthony Martin.
His funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from Wales-Prophett Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Halifax. Burial will be in Plymouth County Cemetery, Plymouth.
