Pat W. Dunn, 72, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Dunn was born June 12, 1942, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Ezekiel Patty & Rosa Lee McCowan Dunn. He was a 1960 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and earned a Bachelors degree in Chemistry from Georgia Tech in 1964. Following graduation, he worked as a chemist for M.A. Ferst of Atlanta. In 1972, he established Colony Chemicals, Inc. in Fitzgerald where he manufactured, sold and distributed chemical products and operated a commercial janitorial service. Mr. Dunn enjoyed quail hunting, fishing, and his dogs.
He is survived by two daughters: Amy & Brent Davis of Macon and Emily Dunn of Atlanta; four grandchildren: Franky & Anna Davis, Matthew Davis, Emily Rose Davis, and Mimi Davis; one great-grandson, Trey Davis; one brother, Shep & Susan Dunn of Fitzgerald; two sisters: Margaret & John Croley of Fitzgerald and Carol Vi & Don Burrell of Lilburn; as well as nieces and nephews.
