Obituary

Vincent F. "Vinnie" Guerra, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 60 years old.

Vinnie was born in Boston on July 31, 1954, a son of Ralph Guerra and Gloria (Marino) Guerra. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system. Vinnie's career was mainly in sales in the plumbing supply industry. He worked at several local supply houses but spent most of his 35 year career on and off at Murray Supply Company in Medford.

Vinnie was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. His knowledge of all things pertaining to motorcycles was amazing. He was a longtime member of the American Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA).

Vinnie took great pleasure every year in being part of The Townie Santa program. Vinnie's greatest gift to the world was his quick wit and his unique sense of humor. He brought great laughter to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Vinnie is survived by his loving partner of 20 years Claire Peront of Charlestown and his loyal canine companion Rocco. He is the beloved son of Ralph Guerra and Gloria (Marino) Guerra of Charlestown. Beloved brother of Linda Hamilton and her husband David of Malden, Robert Guerra of Charlestown and Sean Guerra and his wife Kathy of Dracut. He is also survived by his friend and employer Andrew Matrundola of Murray Supply Company who provided unwavering support for Vinnie throughout his long illness and also several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Vinnie's Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 11 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Burial is private. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
