James W. Hasson, 61, of Mashpee, MA, peacefully passed away at home after a hard-fought battle with brain cancer on Friday, June 5, 2015 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Cheryl (Frederic) Hasson.
Jim was born in Fall River and grew up in Westport. He was the son of James W. and Jacqueline (Viens) Hasson of Westport. He was a hard worker who always had a smile and a kind word for others. Jim always put his friends and family first, even in his final days, and will be remembered for his resilience and positive outlook on life.
Survivors along with his wife and parents include his son: Jacob W. Hasson and his wife Maggie Cleveland of Fairhaven; his daughter: Elizabeth Rodriguez and her husband Jose of New Bedford; 2 sisters: Karen Charest and her husband Denis of CT and Brenda Eldridge and her husband Keith of Easton, MA; stepchildren: Kevin, Christy and Jayme Frederic and their families; his former wife: Debra (Cabral) Hasson of FL; 13 grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Beech Grove Cemetery, 947 Main Rd., Westport, MA 02790 at 11:00 A.M.
