Jesse Lee Goodman, 70, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Friday, June 5, 2015, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. and the Rev. Jack Perrin officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, in Irwin County. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, from 6 to 8, at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Goodman was born December 4, 1944, in Tifton, Georgia, to the late Jesse Bryant and Ruth Allen Goodman. He lived in the community all of his life and was a retired truck driver. Mr. Goodman was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Mildred Owens Goodman of Ocilla; children: Kay Goodman of Ocilla, Michael & Pam Goodman of Irwinville and Steve Goodman of Douglas; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters: Pauline Blount, Annetta Brady and Janie Brooks all of Nashville, Diane Sirmans of Lakeland, Peggy Goodman of Blackshear and Nancy Flippo of Tifton and one brother: David Benton of Hawkinsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother: Kathleen “Pat” Goodman; a son: Timothy Lee Goodman; and two sisters: June Connell Cooper and Betty Browning.
