Elbert A. King, 67, of New Bedford died unexpectedly on Thursday May 28, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Forsyth County, North Carolina, the son of the late Sallie Mae King, he lived in New Bedford for the past 36 years.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Mary Taylor; his daughters, Jalpurnia Blalock and Larkiethea Woodson; his stepchildren, Angie Douglas, Pamela Douglas, Maria Harris, and Philip Douglas; his sisters, Loretta Jackson and Almeana "Toni" Lyles; his aunt, Almeana Little; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday June 9, 2015 from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
