Shane B. Farrell, age 13, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 3, 2015.
Born in Boston, MA on August 28, 2001, he was the loving and devoted son of Brian E. Farrell and Jacqueline L. McCabe of Mansfield.
Shane was educated in Mansfield schools and at the present time, was a seventh grade honors student at the Qualters Middle School, where he his favorite subjects were science and history.
He was a member of the Edgewood Church of Christ in Mansfield, where he was actively involved in the youth group. He, along with his father, volunteered their time helping others at Grace House in Framingham, and he was anticipating this summer spent at the Gander Brook Christian Camp in Raymond, Maine.
Shane was a remarkably mature and responsible young man, who at the early age of four began developing strong computer skills. He also loved photography, acting, producing home video movies, playing basketball, street hockey and Xbox.
Spending time with family and friends, especially with his sister were the happiest times of his life, and he will be truly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his beloved sister Kerrin M. Ricci of Mansfield. He was the cherished grandson of Douglas and Marilyn McCabe and the late Edward and Joan Farrell. He is also survived by many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, June 9th at 10:00 A.M. in the Edgewood Church of Christ, 26 Edgewood St., Mansfield. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Natick.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday. June 8th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
