Robert L. Taylor, 81, of Auburn, NH passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. He was born on March 17, 1934 in Manchester a son of the late Cecil B. and Arline T. (Smith) Taylor. Robert was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Derry Class of 1953. He served on the Derry Fire Department from 1955-1977, retiring as Fire Captain. He then worked as a heavy equipment operator with Moore’s Trucking, JVL Construction, Continental Paving and Tate Bros. Paving. He was a member of the NH Fire Chiefs Association, the Professional Firefighters of NH, and the American Legion post 27 in Londonderry. In addition, he enjoyed following NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Priscilla L. (Warren) Taylor of Auburn, two daughters, Jill Taylor of Bedford, NH and fiancé Rick Graham of Center Ossipee, NH, Jayne Gannon and husband Edward of Auburn; one son, Robert E. Taylor and his wife Catherine of Derry; five granddaughters, Kira, Amy, Caitlyn, Stephanie and Tifeni; three great grandchildren, Rylie, Lilly and Liam; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Cecil B. Taylor, III.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, June 7th from 2 – 6pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Monday at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry.
