Obituary

CHICOPEE – Frances A. (Wojcik) Loranger, 88, a longtime resident of Sunflower Avenue in Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Saturday, May 30, 2015. She passed into Eternal Life at Mount Saint Vincent Care Center in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 20, 1926, a beloved daughter of 15 children to the late John and Sophie (Wojdyla) Wojcik. She was raised in Minneapolis and moved to Chicopee around 1954. She was a longtime volunteer at Elder Council 69 Knights of Columbus in Chicopee. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a longtime communicant of Saint Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family. She was predeceased by her parents; her thirteen dear siblings; her loving son, James R. Loranger; and her beloved husband and best friend of 57 years, Adrien G. “Buzzy” Loranger who was Called Home on September 17, 2003. She leaves her loving children, Thomas P. Loranger and his wife, Sue, of Wareham, Paul W. Loranger and his wife, Junia, of Granby, Gerald A. Loranger and his wife, Rhonda, of Wales, and Marie G. Loranger of Chicopee; her loving daughter-in-law, Sharon Loranger of Brookhaven, FL; her seven cherished grandchildren; her eleven cherished great-grandchildren; her dear sister, Melo Davis of Minneapolis, MN; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Loranger and Wojcik families. Her family would like to thank the entire staff at Mount Saint Vincent Care Center for the exceptional care and love that they provided to Frances over the past 11 years during her long Journey Home. Her funeral will be held on Monday morning, June 8, 2015 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 7:45 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Committal Service will follow the Mass at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, June 7, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family has requested that memorial donations may be made in her memory to Mount Saint Vincent Resident Council Fund, 35 Holy Family Road, Holyoke, MA 01040.
