Augusta, GA – Mrs. Pauline Leaphart Lewis, 94, beloved wife of the late Sumter Lewis, entered into rest on Monday, June 01, 2015 at Kentwood Nursing Facility.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in Sunset Memory Gardens with Dr. Michael Davenport officiating.
Mrs. Lewis was a strong Christian woman who had a strong love for everyone she encountered. Her family expressed that she seemed to know how to do everything and took pleasure in sharing her knowledge with others. Mrs. Lewis had many famous sayings but her favorite one was “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.”
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her grandchildren, Angie Banford (Greg), Steven Lewis (Jennifer), and Dana Lewis; her sister, Joyce Weeks; her great-grandchildren, Taylor and Dakota Banford; and by a host of very loyal close friends. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her sons, Donald and Ernest Lewis; and by her sister, Merle Carroll.
