Obituary

WAYLAND: Alfred Lupis, 89, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 28, 2015 following a period of declining health.
He was born in Framingham on January 22, 1926 the son of the late Nicholas Lupis and Sabina (DeLeo) Lupis.
He was the beloved and devoted husband for 64 years of the late Laura (Carreia) Lupis who died on February 21, 2010.
Al is survived by his loving daughters; Sandra Penney and her husband David Penney of Clinton formerly of Wayland and Dana Jackson and her husband Paton Jackson of Brooklyn, NY. Cherished grandfather of Alison Devoll and her husband Stephen Devoll of Bossier City, LA; Kyle Penney of Clinton; Ryan Eckert and his wife Jaime Eckert of Ashland; Nikhil Thorat of Cambridge and Priyanka Thorat of Northborough. Great-grandfather or Jacob Eckert of Ashland;, Brother of Frank Lupis and his wife Martha Lupis of Framingham and Jennie Castellano of Framingham. Brother of the late Charles Lupis; Matilda Delfino; Ida Pieczwicz, Angie Grambattistone, Rosario Lupis and Starino Lupis. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great nephews.
Alfred spent his formative years in Framingham and was educated in the Framingham school system. He served his country with honor with the United States Army during World War II in the European African Middle Eastern Theater and the American Theater Campaign. For over 45 years he was a well known and accomplished builder in the metrowest area and also worked alongside his brother Charlie in building residential homes. He was a member of the Columbus Club of Framingham. He enjoyed walking, tending to his gardens at his Wayland home and loved to do lawn and yard work at his home. He enjoyed having projects and building and renovating his home. He and his wife Laura especially enjoyed the long motor trips in his 1983 Lincoln Continental and weekends spent on their boat in Lake George, New York. He was dedicated to his family and loved the time spent with his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Visitations will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 form 5:00 to 8:00 pm on at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland,.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin’s Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Lupis family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
