Obituary

LEICESTER: Frederick A. Young, Jr., 89, of Marlboro Drive died Sunday, May 31 in the Meadows of Leicester after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 66 years, Doris Lorraine (Turpin) Young, two daughters; Sheila M. Young of Webster and Marcia L. Besse of Leicester, three grandchildren; Glenn E. McCallum, Jr., Mark A. Besse & Brian M. Besse, 3 great-grandchildren,several nieces and nephews and his life long buddy George A. Turpin, Sr. of North Grafton. He was pre-deceased by two brothers; Herbert & Raymond Young and five sisters; Laura Castel, Ruth Salonis, Charlotte Gery, Madeline Young and Beatrice Fournier.
Mr. Young was born in Worcester, son of Frederick A. and Edith (Nye) Young, Sr.. He was a truck driver for over thirty years working at Hemingway Trucking Co. and various other trucking companies. He was a member of Local 170. He served his country in the United States Army during WW II. He was a member of VFW post 7556 in Rochdale and American Legion Shannon-Davis Post 205. He was a member of All Saint's Episcopal Church in Worcester. He enjoyed cutting wood, bike riding and watching old war movies. He found his most enjoyment by spending time with his family.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 3rd at 6:00 PM in MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00-6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Veterans Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
