Louis J. Longo passed away peacefully at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 83. Born and raised in Boston, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Maria T. (Romano) Longo. Louis lived in Medford for over 20 years and spent the rest of his life on the North Shore. He worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a civil engineer before his retirement. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed the company of his many friends.
The beloved husband of Dawn (Kirby) Longo, he was a devoted father to Theresa Pietrolungo and her husband Ivo of Medford, Salvatore Longo of Medford and his late wife Cindy, Alfred Longo and his fiancé Lori Simas of Malden, Louis Longo and his wife Tracy of Pelham, NH. The devoted step-father of Scott Johnston of Middleton and Brett Johnston of Amesbury, he was a loving grandfather to Karla, Anthony, Brooke, Trevor, Tyler, Samantha, Nicholas and Elyssa as well as a loving great-grandfather to Domenic and Alexa Rose. He was a dear brother of Frank Longo and Rosalie Indelcato of Revere, Richard Longo of Fla., Theresa Adams of Revere, the late Joseph and Victoria Longo and Vincenza Casali. Louis is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM.
