Dorothy (Morrison) Blevins Dicus Thomas
December 4, 1920- May 29, 2015

Dorothy (Morrison) Blevins Dicus Thomas, 94, of Anderson passed into the Lord's arms surrounded by her loved ones on May 29, 2015 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus. The heavens are pinker this morning. She was known as the Pink Lady of Anderson, Mimi, and Babe to her longtime friends.

She was born in Anderson on December 4, 1920 to Dr. John and Eunice (Drennen) Morrison. She was a graduate of Anderson High School in 1938 and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Anderson College.

She began her clothing store in her home in 1954 and it developed into one of Anderson and Indiana's favorite go to places- The Dorothy Blevins Shoppe and Tea Cart. She did fabulous style shows across the state and raised money for fundraisers and charities. She, her daughter Joy, and staff presented the very popular Indiana State Fair Style Show.

Before her Shoppe, she was a model in New York, Society Editor for Anderson Herald-Bulletin and managed a nationally recognized shoe store.

She was a member of Park Place Church of God; Anderson University Board of Trustees; 1st Woman in Businessman's Hall of Fame; Charter Member of the Jo March Club; Civic Women's Club; Star lighters of Indianapolis; Missions In Action; Paramount Heritage Foundation Board; Anderson Fine Arts Society; National Society of Arts and Letters; Madison County Historical Society; YWCA Board of Directors; Y-Teens; Maplewood Cemetery Board; Community Hospital Foundation and Countless other Memberships to Business and Retails Associations.

She was the subject of an article in the National Magazine Women's Wear Daily. She received the Anderson University Heritage Award.

She loved her family time together at anytime and especially gatherings at the summer home on the banks of the Meramec River in Missouri. She loved all sports and fun.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John (Tami) Blevins of Anderson; daughter and son-in-law, Joy Blevins (Randy) Loyd of McCordsville; 6 grandchildren, Amanda Blevins (David) Tansel of Fishers, Angela Blevins (Kyle) Garner of Pendleton; Lacy Loyd (Brody) Stock of Fishers, Troy R. (Jessica Rogers ) Loyd of Fishers; Kassidy Hiatt of Chicago and Kyler Hiatt of Indianapolis; 10 great-grandchildren, Sayla Joy Stock, Lexa Lyn Stock, Taylor Tansel, Zachary Tansel, Jackson Garner, Jacob Garner, Max Garner, Miles Garner, Jeter Loyd and Jase Loyd; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, 3 husbands, Leonard Blevins, William Dicus and Lawrence Thomas; Brother, Earl Morrison; 2 Sisters, Mona Marjory Morrison Hoffman and Vivian Jean Morrison Caudill-Wagner; granddaughter, Alison J. Blevins Rodgers and a great-granddaughter, Savanna Lyn Stock.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 11:00am at Park Place Church of God with Rev. Don Collins and Dr. David Markle officiating. The burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service from 4:00-8:00pm and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be given to Anderson University (Len Blevins Endowment in honor of Dorothy Blevins).
