TEWKSBURY- Harold W. Jenkins, Age 81, WWII Navy Veteran, died peacefully early
Tuesday morning at Lahey Clinic Medical Center. He was the Husband of Helen (Reardon)
Jenkins with whom he had celebrated a 56th wedding anniversary this past November 21st.
He was born Oct. 31, 1923 the son of the late Harold and Johanna (Thompson) Jenkins.
He graduated Medford High in 1942 and joined the Navy. He is a Veteran of WWII.
He worked for 20 years at J.N. Fields Department Stores. He was a manager at
O’Conner Hardware. Harold was a charter member of the Tewksbury Wilmington Elks and also
a Past Exalted Ruler. He worked many bingo nights at the Elks. He was the chairman of Finance
Committee in Tewksbury.
Besides his wife he is survived by four sons; Richard and his wife Sheila (Scannell) Jenkins
of Trumbull, Connecticut, Gary and Barbara (Bertolami) of Methuen, Brad Jenkins of Tewksbury,
Greg Jenkins of Lowell. One daughter Lauren Jenkins of Tewksbury. One brother Frederick and
his wife Priscilla of Wellfleet, Cape Cod. One sister Beverly and “Bill” William McCarthy of
Salem, NH. Seven Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Brother of the late
Phyllis M. Griffin
His Funeral was held Friday, Mar. 18, followed by interment in
Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to American Cancer Society Central Memorial Processing
