Obituary

JAMES R. LANGFORD, 71, passed away on May 25, 2015 surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Jim was the son of the late George E., Sr. and Elizabeth C. Langford.

He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Jim served honorably in the U. S. Marine Corps, serving in both the 1st and 2nd Amtrac Battalions of the 2nd and 3rd Marine Division, and discharged as a Corporal. He was with the Louisville Division of Fire for 25 years, retiring as a Battalion Chief. His favorite job was the 23 years he spent working part time for Allied Ready Mix, Inc.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara (Monyhan) Langford; his daughter, Robin L. Owens (Bob); son, Michael S. Langford (Amy); grandchildren, Trevor, Ben, Jake, Mia, Hadley and Luke; brother, George E. Langford, Jr.; and many cherished friends.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 6901 Dixie Highway with burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.

Visitation will be from 12 – 8 p.m. Sunday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
